STRUCTURAL INTEGRATION
BODYWORK
“Most of us have collected extra tension through the courses of our lives, either from injury or surgery, imitation of our parents or heroes, from our repetitive activities, or attitudes we’ve acquired along the way. These injuries and tension form a pattern in our bodies. It happens below our conscious awareness and becomes part of ‘who we are’. These patterns become written into our muscular tensions, or skeletal form, and into the tissues that go between: the connective tissues.” - Anatomy Trains

About me - Jimmy Wong
Body movements and biomechanics have always been fascinating and intriguing subjects for me. This paved the way for my quest in strategies for healing and freeing the body. Graduated and certified in the school of Anatomy Trains Australia and New Zealand, I have gained a profound set of knowledge in identifying movement/postural issues and I know how to assist my clients via touch. My Structural Integration therapy has been helping my clients with postural issues, movement dysfunctions, and chronic pain management through the manipulation of myofascia.
What is myofascia?
Myofascia is a connective tissue that exists everywhere in the body. It is a connective tissue that wraps around, “links” the skeletal muscles and gives them support. A healthy layer of fascia is a sheet that is elastic, supple and hydrated. Efficient movements require healthy layers of fascia to glide along each other smoothly. Fascia is also filled with nerve endings. So when the quality of the fascia changes - perhaps becoming tight and adhered due to overuse/underuse or trauma - the efficiency of fascial movement decreases, and that’s when the sensation of stiffness, the occurrence of chronic pain, and compensatory postural/movement patterns arise.

Want to be pain-free and move freely?
Structural Integration is a holistic system of superficial and deep manual therapy which aims at bringing changes to the the myofascia and giving better structural balance to the whole body. Its technique manipulates and releases myofascia by reshaping, unwinding and realigning the body to a more optimal postural environment (static). It re-educates your body how to move with more efficiency and re-juvenates your body in a deep level.
